Please bring back vsix downloads

Please let us be able to download vsix files from the marketplace again. Myself and others like to have an offline environment for vscode, to protect against malicious extensions or other possible threats.

Thank you for reaching VS Marketplace Support Team, we are constantly reviewing features on the VS Marketplace with the goal of improving key features and removing features that are not key to the developer workflow. Based on our data and analysis, "Download Extension" was not part of the inner developer flow that we are constantly trying to optimize, so we decided to no longer support it.

Thanks for your reply @madhurivadaligithub as well as your possible work around.

I appreciate that it may not be a common use case, but having the ability to download it via the website in a browser entirely outside the applications is my preferred method. It mitigates the risk of malicious extensions that can slip through, as without networking they cannot exfiltrate data or download a payload hence why I block vscode from accessing the internet.
